Become A Judge
Back To Science Fair Home Page
Judging is a most worthwhile professional development activity, whether you are a registered teacher or not! Help us with the judging of primary and/or secondary level projects from school students across the ACT and gain valuable professional development experience.
We are expecting that every school that enters projects into the SEAACT Science and Engineering Fair, provide at least one teacher who will take part in judging.
You don’t have to be a teacher to judge – we welcome anyone with an interest and background in science – we will train you!
Judging sessions will be a mix of synchronous sessions (judges working together in person to judge the Primary level projects) and asynchronous sessions (judges assessing assigned Secondary Level projects at times of their choosing). Please refer to our Key Dates page for further details.
You may nominate to judge a particular STEM category and Primary and/or Secondary.
By participating in the training and judging process, this can contribute to teacher’s elective Professional Development hours addressing the following Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in ACT.
5.3 Make consistent and comparable judgements
6.3 Engage with colleagues and improve practice
7.4 Engage with professional teaching networks and broader communities
